about

Scott Feiner releases his fourth album, “A View From Below” with his innovative Pandeiro Jazz project. This album features an exciting new electric trio with Feiner on pandeiro, guitarist Guilherme Monteiro and keyboardist Rafael Vernet. Recorded in a two-day session in Rio de Janeiro, the trio interpreted nine original compositions by Feiner, each one more engaging than the next. All three musicians give outstanding performances, and the rapport between them is immediately evident. Feiner’s deep groove, Vernet’s rock-solid left-hand bass lines, and Monteiro’s lyrical solos all come together perfectly in this soulful and highly original encounter.

"4 stars"
- Downbeat, March 2014

"The creative freedom this trio displays while shifting between jazz and Brazilian music is amazing."
- Carlos Calado, Folha de São Paulo
